Dear
Sirs/ Madams,
We
are writing to you on behalf of the to provide you with information on the current situation in
Georgia and ask
for your support.
Georgia has been a victim of
brutal aggression initiated by
Russia
since August 7, 2008. In the 21th century, the civilized world witnessed
unprecedented acts of vandalism carried out against Georgian people.
Russia has violated
Georgia's sovereignty and
territorial integrity and occupied its territory, killing civilians, bombing
and looting towns and villages, destroying civil infrastructure, setting fire
to the forest areas, taking civilians, mostly children, women and elderly
people, as hostages.
We
deeply appreciate the fact that the civilized world stood up against the
Russian chauvinism, denounced the aggression shown by
Russia towards
Georgia
and supported
Georgia's
commitment to building democracy. Alone, without international support,
Georgia will
not be able to overcome current crisis and threat of annihilation since we are
fighting against the regime that will use unacceptable means to achieve its
goals.
We
are asking for your support to maintain
Georgia's sovereignty and
territorial integrity. Please, join us in defending
Georgia's
sovereignty by dedicating a performance or any event to
Georgia on
September 20, 2008. It can be accomplished by simply including a dedication
from the stage or in the performance programme. Support the action - Civilized
World Against Violence.
Looking
forward to hearing from you
Many
thanks in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
David
